Edible Forest co.

After spending time alongside communities where food is grown just outside the door, it's hard to see land as empty space. Through food forests, edible landscape design and practical education, our intention is to help people reconnect with their food, their environment, and the simple satisfaction of harvesting something they've grown themselves.

The Process.

Every space is different, so the first step is taking the time to understand what's already there. Looking at things like light, soil, water, and how people move through and use the space. Once those pieces start to come together, the direction often becomes clearer. From there, a design is developed and planting is introduced over time, allowing the system to establish, adapt and grow into its own rhythm.

From the spaces we’ve worked with

“His technical expertise in the field of sustainable agriculture, landscape design and agroforestry enabled him to identify gaps in training knowledge at the project sites. He spent time at each site to clearly communicate the importance of several agroecological principles, such as mulching, design garden beds for sunlight and water flow, and green manuring with local species”.
